Thoughts on DressLink: Cheap Clothes or…?

dresslink

Most of you have probably already heard of Dresslink, a website that provides online shopping services. The merchandise is made, packaged and shipped from China (what’s not, right? ), only that it gets shipped directly to your address. The site caters not only to the Western (primarily US and UK markets), but to the rest of the world as well.  The site got its major breakthrough thanks to a number of YouTube beauty gurus (such as Trisha Paytas a.k.a. blndsundollmj, Marzia Besognin a.k.a. CutiePieMarzia, etc.).

Since this is one of the few ones that ship to Serbia (Eastern Europe), we decided to give it a try and share our Dresslink experience with you.

Our first shot was successful. The aim of the order was to see whether it would actually arrive to Serbia (because who ships to Serbia, right?). The website states that on average it takes 10-25 days for the order to reach its destination. Ours took 14 days which can be considered as an average. We ordered a T-shirt which came pretty much as it looked on the picture, the size fit perfectly. The only downside (if it can be called so) is the fact that on the picture listed on the website the Eagle logo looks more whitish than silver, which it turns out to be when you receive the shirt. The shirt was super cheap, even for Serbian standards, so we’ll call it a win-win situation. The mark this shirt got from our fashionista was a 4.5/5 stars.

Ok, so now we got it confirmed. The stuff IS going to arrive to Serbia, so order on…and we did. Our second order was a more daredevilish one. We ordered 2 long-sleeved shirts, one T-shirt and a pair of sheer, black dotted pantyhose.

The second time around, it took 21 days for the order to arrive. So we thought, ok, there was more stuff this time, so that was kind of alright. This time, we can’t say we were as satisfied with the order, and this is why.

The first shirt that we ordered was a black one with white dots. 10836-2

This one fit alright, it looked pretty decent too. The only thing we weren’t not super satisfied with is the material of the shirt. The website stated that the shirt was made of chiffon; however the material was a bit on the thick side and it was a tad bit too stiff (the reason probably being the lower quality of the material) than we would have expected it to be. Overall, the shirt was worth it’s price so we’d give it a 3.5/5 stars.

The next one was a short-sleeved pale pink blouse with flower emblems all over the bust and back.  20210-10

This shirt was definitely one of our favorites, and it certainly came out to be a bargain. The only downside was that the shirt came a little small even though we ordered it in the size L. Even though it turned out to be a bit tighter around the waist, the shirt will definitely be worn. This one deserved 4.2/5 stars (the only minus being the size issue).

The second to the last was another shirt. This one was an olive green, loose-fitted (or at least it should have been), chiffon shirt. We ordered it in the size L, and mind you, our fashionista is a European size S-M. The shirt came too small, the sleeves were short and it wasn’t as nearly loose fitted as the picture showed. Also, the shirt had all kinds of funky threads sticking all over the place, so we had to make a cut here and there. The material was a bit off-putting again (you better not perspire in this one). 19961-3

Overall, we’ll give it a 2.5/5 stars, because , it just might be worn once or twice and it can look alright if you style it carefully.

The last item that we shopped for were these sheer pantyhose that we searched for in avail for almost a year throughout lingerie shops in Serbia. 5239-2

Unfortunately, even though the website stated they were a universal size, they came to be too small for a 1.72m girl. The barely came up to the hips, and also they had a little tear in them when they were first put on. Overall they’ll get a 1/5 stars because these, unlike the other items, can’t be made usable.

All in all, we’ll give DressLink a 4/5 stars. Even though the quality isn’t up there, you’ll get what you pay for. The only thing you should seriously watch for when ordering, are the sizes, because they definitely run smaller than the usual European sizes. The shipping is alright if you don’t mind waiting 2-3 weeks, and the prices…well, for 20$ you could pick out an entire outfit and even make it look like something straight out of a fashion blog (in case it doesn’t turn out to look like you mixed programs in your washer and drier).

In the end, if you had any DressLink experiences we invite you to share your stories in the comment below.

Greets from Serbia!
